   EVS Milestones

The year 2000 marked the beginning of a revolution in the global outsourcing industry with the formation of a new industry segment, popularly known as Knowledge Process Outsourcing or KPO. This industry provides a range of 'high-end' knowledge-based professional services for Clients worldwide, conducting their work from offshore locations such as India, China, Eastern Europe and Latin America.

EVS – The KPO Leader

Since our formation in December 2000, Evalueserve (EVS) has experienced positive company growth across multiple dimensions. This includes the expansion of our worldwide team in size and geographic coverage (Sales Offices in North and South America, Europe, Asia Pacific Operation Centres in India, China and Chile), doubling of revenue each year (while maintaining profitability), and Client growth serving over 1,100 companies around the world.

We have achieved success by relentlessly focussing on the basics – principally, the delivery of quality service to our Clients in every single element of conducting business with them.

Flashback

When Alok Aggarwal (Chairman of EVS) founded the IBM India Research Laboratory at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, in July 1997, his team began producing technology innovations, which required patent protection. He soon realised that the process of drafting and filing patent applications (with traditional IP attorneys) was in many cases more expensive than inventing the technology itself. He also realised that the development of advanced innovations, sourced from a world-class research team located in India, could deliver great value to a multi-national firm – in this case, IBM.

March 2000 was a turning point, when Alok met Marc Vollenweider (the current CEO of EVS). Similar to Alok, Marc was running an offshore research centre on assignment from the European offices of McKinsey & Company as the Head of the McKinsey Knowledge Centre in Delhi. He briefed Alok on how the McKinsey Knowledge Centre was employing MBAs and other individuals with advanced degrees to provide market, analytics and business research support to McKinsey consultants worldwide.

In December 2000, Alok and Marc left IBM and McKinsey, and formed Evalueserve, with the intent of building a world-class professional services firm that provides a blend of Intellectual Property and Legal Process Services, Analytics, and Financial/Business/Market Research services. They named the new KPO firm Evalueserve. Since the company was founded, the vision has successfully turned to reality – providing KPO services for Clients worldwide –  from aggressive startups to Fortune 500 companies – across multiple industry segments.
