Intellectual Property Services

Evalueserve provides Intellectual Property and Legal Process Services across the technology cycle—right from the stage of conceptualisation to value extraction—in almost all domains of engineering and sciences.

Intellectual Property Services

Some of the key services are as follows:

Patentability Search : To evaluate the patentability or the novelty of a particular invention with respect to the patents, products and other research work that already exist in the respective field of the invention.

Invalidation Search : To assess if a patent can be invalidated by patents, products and other research articles that already existed before the priority date claimed by the patent

Freedom to Operate Study : To evaluate the degree of freedom to use/operate for a particular invention/product with respect to the patents that already exist in the field of the invention/product.

Evalueserve also provides specialized searches such as sequence searches and structure searches. The sequence searches are conducted on sequence databases, like NCBI, Registry, DGENE and CAPLUS. The analysis is provided based on the mapping (exact, substructure or degree of homology) between the query sequence and the result sequence. Similary, structure searches are conducted through proprietary databases for structure searches like Registry, CAPLUS, MARPAT, Questeal Orbit, Beilsltein, CMEMINFORMRX, and PUB Chem Structure.

Patent Portfolio Analysis is carried out to catalog the patents of a company either in a spreadsheet or database form. Patents are analysed in detail to identify the claimed, double claimed and not-yet claimed subject matters along with a thorough analysis of the complete patent families, and legal status/prosecution history. Also, trend analysis to represent the research focus, patent filling pattern, key patents, key inventors, patent citation analysis, etc., is presented through easy to interpret graphs and charts.

Patent Landscapes : Starting with understanding the relevant technology, all relevant patents are found using broad search strategies and categorised as per a technology tree. The relevant patents are presented in an interactive database with a user-friendly search interface. The patent landscape analysis including, patent trend analysis, technology evolution, white space analysis, patent citation analysis, key assignees, etc., is presented through easy to interpret graphs and charts.

State-of-the-art Studies : A survey of existing art in a particular technological domain is conducted to identify the status of current developments in the technology. Patented innovations and major players in the relevant field are identified and documented, along with Evalueserve’s analysis.

Technology Watch : This is an update of current developments in a technology domain or a company on a regular basis. The update includes latest patents, changes in legal status of a patent family, recent research papers, product launches, and technical and corporate news. The analysis is presented as an executive summary web page or a newsletter.

Patent Drafting and Filling : It is the drafting of a complete patent application in collaboration with the client’s partner attorneys or external law firms as per EPO, USPTO, IPO guidelines to assist your team with handling prosecution, filing of patents, obtaining foreign filing permits, etc.

REACH : This new chemical regulation in EU has entered into force on June 1, 2007 and it mandates major changes in the documentation of safe manufacture, use, import and disposal of chemicals for EU’s chemical industry. Evalueserve offers following REACH services to its clients:

REACH preparation – Identification of roles and responsibilities in REACH and identification of substances subject to registration.
