Promodome Communications, a Delhi-based advertising firm, is set to enter into the Hindi film production arena.

The operations will commence through a new division called Promodome Films, with the first two ventures being comedy films. The company endeavours to produce films across various genres.

Speaking on this, the group CEO Sandeep Kapur said, “Our first film titled Jugaad will go on floors this month. The budget is INR 60–70 million and it stars Manoj Bajpai, Vijay Raaz and Rohit Roy, amongst others.” Anand Kumar of Delhi Heights fame will be the director of the film, with the script written by Bunty Rathod of Dhamaal fame. Kapur further added, “We are looking to release it by April 2008. Our second film is also a comedy and it will go on floors by June 2008”.

Explaining the rationale behind this venture he commented, “We have been a consistent player in the advertising world. With our foray into films, we are looking at creating a new niche for the group company. We are looking at becoming one of the leading film production houses from New Delhi”.

Apart from feature films, the firm will also produce quality documentaries for different TV channels.

The film production operations will be primarily based out of its Delhi and Mumbai offices.
