Das Music is increasingly forming strategic alliances with a number of production houses and stalwarts of the regional film industry to increase its foothold in the regional films arena. It has been focussing on acquiring quality software and world rights for films, videos and short films. The most recent alliances for numerous Bhojpuri, Rajasthani, Marathi and Oriya films, are with Anup Jalota's Satyam Movies, Prerna Motion Pictures, Pindeshwar Pictures and Channel Guide India Ltd.

Das Music is primarily making efforts to diversify to film production and marketing business through the company’s regional language productions, which as per the MD of Das Music, Dhianu Das, are 'more profitable and content-oriented than Hindi films'. These efforts are being achieved through its banner ’Das Entertainment‘, music label of Das Music.

Das Entertainment has a strong foothold in the market through its chartbusting numbers. The company has been distributing its music products through CDs, cassettes and the Internet. 'Unns’ and 'Hota Hai Dil Pyar Main Pagal' are the two movies that have been lately produced on a conservative budget of approximately INR 2 crore and distributed by Das Entertainment.

'The Hindi film industry has become very star centric and very less is being done on content side. That's why we want to differentiate ourselves through our content and script rich films. We are entering in regional film production in big way and eying a major chunk of regional productions in the country. Right now, we are in Bhojpuri, Oriya and Rajasthani productions. Incidentally, Bhojpuri film industry is doing very well due to its connection with its viewers. We want to promote new talent in films and music area, which is not happening in the industry these days. Every one is chasing the same stars,' commented the MD of Das Music.

When asked about the focus on regional as opposed to Hindi films, Dhianu Das replied, 'main reason is budget of the Hindi films, these days. Very few low budget films are successful on the box office, whereas in regional films, even an INR 1 crore film can do wonders.”
