With the addition of five new radio channels, September 2007 was an eventful month for the digital and animation industry with the total number of private FM radio channels in the country reaching 120.

The five new channels commissioned were MY FM (Synergy Media), Radio Dhamal (BAG Infotainment), BIG FM (Adlabs Films) and Radio Mirchi (ENIL). While MY FM and BIG FM are for Ajmer, Radio Dhamal will be aired for Muzafarpur and Dhule, and Radio Mirchi for Kolhapur.

A sum of INR167.82 lakhs was received by the government in September from these private FM radio broadcasters as license fee.
