The company relied on a legacy Cloudera-based analytics environment that limited self-service reporting and increased dependence on data engineering teams.
Complex data models made analytics difficult for non-technical users, while fragmented access to information slowed ad hoc analysis and reduced confidence in business insights. The platform also lacked the semantic and AI capabilities needed to support the company’s next generation of analytics.
Our Solution
Evalueserve designed and implemented a modern lakehouse and semantic architecture to create a governed, scalable foundation for analytics.
The team migrated legacy Cloudera workloads to the Databricks Data & AI Platform and built a trusted Gold Layer containing standardized payment, merchant, and transaction data. This established a consistent source of business-ready information across the organization.
Evalueserve then created a semantic and self-service analytics layer using Microsoft Fabric's OneLake and Direct Lake. Microsoft Copilot in Teams provided a conversational interface through which business users could explore data and answer questions using natural language.
The resulting architecture included:
- A Databricks lakehouse supporting trusted, analytics-ready data
- A Gold Layer with standardized payment, merchant, and transaction KPIs
- A scalable semantic layer for consistent business reporting
- High-performance self-service analytics through OneLake and Direct Lake
