Reduced Stakeholder Decision-Making Time During New Product Introduction (NPI) Process for Company

The Challenge

When putting together a new product introduction (NPI), a company must focus on providing key information when launching a new or improved product. AN NPI brings the right resources together at the right time, in order to deliver a product to the right people. Our client requested a tool that would drastically reduce stakeholder decision-making time for a field follow machine. 

The client needed real-time data on the field follow machine’s telematics data, location, operator feedback, software history, maintenance logs and warranty claims. Knowing that the longer it takes for stakeholders to decide, the less likely they are to become invested, Evalueserve focused on bringing insight to both the client and stakeholder as efficiently as possible.

Our Solution

Helping the client manage their NPI program by reducing stakeholder decision-making time was the Evalueserve team’s top priority. They brought together the huge amounts of data that the client collected, paying special attention to its organization, and created a comprehensive dashboard that brought together key insights. This was achieved by organizing the list of complex data the client wanted to show stakeholders, and then breaking down the information into specific categories. 

Key data was displayed in a dynamic dashboard, which organized insights into usage and health tabs that were updated daily: 

Usage Tab 

This tab provides information on field follow machine performance by collating service meter hours, locations, operator feedback, and their load and utilization. The Evalueserve team organized this tab based on the general operations of the field follow machine, which was then used to give insight into patterns and trends. 

Health Tab 

This tab provides information on field follow machine health issues and events by looking at warning messages, warranty claims, fault codes, reported software upgrade and related issues. These measurements revealed key insights on each field follow machine’s performance and upkeep. 

Business Impact

The client received insight into their own data in a form that their stakeholders would also be able to quickly understand. We broke-down a large amount of data by displaying it into two different tabs, and used automated diagrams that were clearly labeled into concise categories. The changes to the client’s system and organization reduced pilot management time to around 15%, meaning that less time was needed to communication issues and health of the field follow machine. Machine downtime, a KPI measuring the amount of time equipment was not operating as scheduled, was reduced by 5%
